What is the Google logo font?

Google’s logo uses the font Catull for it’s main font. This is a commercial font and is available here:

Catull font can be obtained for free from here, but I note again that this is a commercial font:

Sergey Brin did not design Catull. Catull was designed by Gustav Jaeger in 1982.

I recall reading somewhere once that the first letter is different in some way, but i can’t find anything online now.
